We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, fill out a form, subscribe to our newsletter and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities. Geek Fix will never sell or pass on client information to 3rd part companies or affiliates.

Non-personal identification information:

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilised and other similar information.

Web browser cookies:

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

When you contact us by phone or email to enquire about our services we collect information about you, including your name and contact details.

Geek Fix may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

– To improve customer service Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently. – To send periodic emails We may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.

How we protect your information:

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password or transaction information. NO data is stored on our Site.

It is usual for payment to be made in face to face transactions with the customer at the time of job completion and not via telephone or email. In the interests of preserving customer privacy, all customers’ financial details are erased from our systems once payment has been made by the customer.

The only details of customers kept on data files are names, contact information and addresses for invoices purposes.

Sharing your personal information:

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

We do not share any of your information with any third party other than our carriers if you require an order to be delivered. They will only have the information they need to deliver your order and will use that information for that purpose only.

The information you provide will be held securely on our data base, accessible only to Geek Fix staff and used only for the purpose of delivering the service you request from us..

The Invoice will only state that the customer paid but no financial details are recorded or stored.

Security and data retention:

Security measures are in place to protect your information from unauthorised access,unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage. We will retain your information whilst we are dealing with the services you require from us and for some time afterwards to ensure we can provide the service you need from us and to fulfil any legal requirements.

You may request that all your data be deleted from our records. Please do so in writing by contacting us.

Terms & Conditions

Geek Fix provides network and wif-fi support in Harrogate and the North Yorkshire area.

Changes to our Terms and Conditions:

Geek Fix has the discretion to update these terms and conditions at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review these terms and conditions periodically and become aware of any modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms:

By using this Site and our Services, you signify your acceptance of our privacy policy and terms and conditions. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site or Services. Your continued use of the Site and Services following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

1:- Call Out Charges – There is a 1hr minimum charge on any job where a site visit is provided.

1.1:- There is no callout charge inside of Harrogate city limits. A charge may be levied outside of Harrogate city limits.

1.2:- Current hourly Charges: £30 per hour plus VAT for any and all remote support work. £40 per hour plus VAT for any off site computer based support. £60 per hour plus vat for any onsite networking, ethernet and wifi based support.

2:- Geek Fix does not offer credit unless separately agreed. Payment must be made at the time of completion of works, call-out or telephone support. Business Credit Accounts will be limited to 5 working days. Late fees of £25.00 will be levied if payment is not received within this period. Payment should be made by cash, BACS, PayPal or Credit/Debit Card. We do not accept cheque.

2.1:- Parts required for replacement, renewal or in relation to new pc builds must be paid for at the time of order. Work will not be carried out until such time as payment is made.

2.2 :- Partial payments for hardware act as a deposit and is non refundable.

2.3:- Custom Build Computers. All custom build computers are customer specific and none refundable once deposit has been received and the hardware ordered.

2.4:- Custom Build Computer Warranty. Geek Fix provides a 1 year labour warranty on all custom build computers. Geek Fix retains all manufacturers hardware warranties. During the 1 year Geek Fix Labour Warranty, and if the hardware part is still under manufacturers warranty, then Geek Fix will replace the part and install it at no extra cost. After the 1 year Geek Fix Labour Warranty, then Geek Fix will charge 1hr labour to install the part. After the 1 year Geek Fix Labour Warranty the client is liable to return the unit back to Geek Fix for repair.

3:- Geek Fix will retain ownership of supplied parts / hardware / software until such time as payment is made in full. Geek Fix reserve the right to remove and or recover all parts / hardware in the event of outstanding payment. Legal action may be taken on outstanding balances, incurring further costs such as court costs if deemed necessary.

4:- Geek Fix is open between the hours of 9am and 5pm every day of the week (Monday through Saturday, Sunday 1030am to 4pm). Geek Fix will attend outside of these hours as an emergency call out. Geek Fix reserves the right to charge an additional fee (Emergency Callout Charge), by agreement, for support provided outside of these hours.

5:- Where the services are performed on the Client’s premises, Geek Fix shall have use of the Client’s premises, without charge as a licensee and shall vacate those premises on completion of the work.

5.1:- Whilst on the Client’s premises all Geek Fix staff shall comply with such rules and regulations as may be in force in respect of work on the Client’s premises.

6:- Geek Fix Warranty does not cover malicious damage or intervention by staff/clients to either the software or hardware. If it is found that a hardware or software fault has occurred due to a client / staff acting without prior authorisation from Geek Fix, then the warranty shall be deemed void and labour will be charged at the current rate to remedy the fault.

7:- Due to the complexities of modern pc software and operating systems, Geek Fix is unable to provide any guarantee against software corruption. Geek Fix offers a minimum 12 month warranty on new parts.  Geek Fix offers a maximum 12 month warranty on Labour.  This warranty does not apply where failure is due to misuse by the customer. New parts, which fail, will be replaced with the same (if available) or nearest equivalent. Labour on replacing parts will be waived. If the operating system or any software is required to be re-installed after part replacement, our standard charges for labour are applicable.

8:- In order to ensure accurate and prompt communications, Geek Fix may request that ONE point of contact is established within a Client’s organisation. Geek Fix reserves the right to refuse requests made via non authorised contacts.

9:- When a computer is formatted, ALL DATA will be removed. It is the responsibility of the Client to ensure that any important data is BACKED UP prior to commencement of work by Geek Fix. If required, Geek Fix will attempt to save required data but without accepting any liability or giving any warranty of success. Geek Fix reserves the right to charge for this service. To this end, the Client agrees that Geek Fix is neither responsible nor liable for any loss of personal data. Licensed software such as Microsoft or Adobe cannot be reinstalled unless the Client provides a licence and the original software disks or manufacturers direct download link.

10:-Whilst conducting a repair, Geek Fix may view images and documents on different forms of media belonging to the Client. If any such images or documents are found to contain criminal actions or intent, Geek Fix will inform the Police without notice to the Client. Geek Fix will not accept liability for any loss to the Client, due to these actions. This clause is to satisfy the provisions of the Data Protection Act.

11:- Geek Fix is neither responsible nor liable for the installation of software other than Microsoft Windows & Apple Mac operating systems, including driver software pertinent to the pc. This does not include any 3rd party peripherals. 3rd party software installations and data recovery are the responsibility of the Client (unless agreed by Geek Fix) and all such issues should be directed to the individual software company.

12:- The Client should ensure that all computer related equipment have power surge protection, adequate to the required power drain. Such power surge protection should be clearly marked. Data Loss / Hardware faults arising due to a lack of such protection are not covered by Geek Fix and repairs are chargeable at the usual hourly rate.

13:- Neither party shall be liable to the other party by reason of any failure or delay in performing it’s obligations under the agreement, which is due to fire, flood, Act of God, war, terrorism, riot, loss of power where there is no practicable means available to the party concerned to avoid such failure or delay.
